One of our fantastic Undergrads who graduated last year with a Masters degree in Chemistry and Maths last year has had her work published in Chemistry – A European Journal!
Victoria’s work was looking at which PBIs would form a thin film upon drying and whether they would be tolerant to bending. She found that some were able to be bent and some were not. Furthermore she found that PBI-A was the most tolerant, and that the resistance decreased proportionally with being bent, and returned back once relaxed. This shows some promise towards using these films as mechanoresponsive devices.
Well done Victoria, you can read the Just Accepted paper here.
